Classes include everything you need, so you don’t need to bring anything but anticipation of a truly great learning experience! Each session begins with an orientation, including a tour of the facility, an overview of lampworking, the equipment, safety procedures and the learning objectives for the day. Work produced during the class can be picked up the next open studio day or we can mail them out.
The Lampworking Experience – Just a Taste!
If you’ve ever wanted to try out lampworking without investing a lot of time or money this is the class for you! You get two hours of one on one instruction with one of our Senior Artists using our top of the line equipment and supplies. The session begins with an abbreviated orientation and then jumps right into producing beads. You can expect to make 4 -8 beads which will be available for pickup the following day. Two (2) hours of One on One instruction with soft glass: $60.00, by appointment.
Introduction to Lampwork Bead Making
Learn the ancient craft of glass bead making in our comfortable, modern studio in Berea, Ohio. You can expect to make between 10-20 beads in a variety of designs using techniques like mavering, cutting, applying dots, raking, and the application of stringers. $180.00 for six (6) hours of instruction.

Intermediate Lampwork Bead Making
Take your beadmaking skills to a new level using intermediate techniques like complex stringer and filigrano, application of dichroic glass, hollow beads, surface sculptures, use of silvered glass and sculptural forms. Class members will guide techniques covered based on their existing knowledge and goals. You can expect to make between 10-20 beads in a variety of designs.
$225.00 for six (6) hours of instruction

The Lampworking Party!
What could be more fun that having your meeting or party here at the studio! It’s comfortable with plenty of space for gatherings, and whoever is up for the adventure can jump on the torch with one on one instruction. It’s as much fun for those watching as it is for the adventurer(s)! $30.00 per hour per torch, by appointment (generally one torch is enough to entertain a group).
Torch Rental by the Hour
If you’re an experienced Lampworker you can rent one of our torch stations by the hour,
which includes use of the torch, dipped mandrels in a variety of sizes, a basic toolkit, and the
annealer, which will be operational during your rental time. Does not include glass, which
you may bring or purchase here (we have a great selection!).
Unassisted Rate on mega minor: $15.00 per hour, or block card with 10 hours for $120.00
Unassisted Rate on Mid Range: $20.00 per hour, or block card with 10 hours for $160.00
Assisted Rate (one on one instruction): $30.00 per hour
Jewelry Making Basics
So you've taken a Lampworking class or two and you have a nice stash of beads but you're not sure what to do with them? Or you've been dabbling in jewelry making on your own, but want to learn some basic design and construction techniques to ensure your pieces are beautiful AND durable? We can help! Each class begins with a discussion around what you'd like to achieve - we can focus on one of our projects or something you've brought in to work on.
Each three (3) hour class includes:
A nice selection of jewelry making supplies and findings
Use of our large collection of jewelry making tools
One on one instruction with an experienced teacher
